Lauren Bartholomew, Psy.D
Doctor of Clinical Psychology
Dr. Bartholomew earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from The American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Arlington, Virginia in 2014. She completed her doctoral internship at the MidAtlantic Internship Consortium: Prince William Family Counseling. She completed her post-doctoral residency at Insight Psychological Services in Stafford, Virginia. She has ten years of clinical experience working in private practice and community mental health settings. She specializes in working with adolescents (at least 13 years old) and adults with depression and anxiety, family-of-origin concerns, and individuals diagnosed with chronic medical conditions. She also specializes in helping adolescents and their families who are in the process of coming out as LGBTQIA+. Dr. Bartholomew utilizes a strength-based approach to help patients overcome adversity, adapt to change, and challenge ingrained and unhealthy life patterns. Lauren brings with her Lilly, a hypoallergenic and certified therapy dog, who assists in many therapy sessions. Lauren is currently working under Dr. Freedman’s supervision, and plans to take the psychology licensing board examination in the fall of 2019.
